Policies

  • We are a non-smoking facility
  • No pets allowed
  • Women ages 18 & up only
  • Children ages 16 & up must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
  • A $250 deposit is required to reserve your space at Creative Cottage.
  • The individual, “group coordinator”, who pays the deposit will also be responsible for signing the rental agreement and is ultimately held accountable for any damages to Creative Cottage caused by their group.
  • The balance is due 30 days prior to the arrival date. The balance will be automatically charged to the credit card which the deposit was made on 30 days prior to the retreat unless other arrangements have been made beforehand.
  • If the balance is not received 30 days prior to the retreat, your reservation may be cancelled and the deposit may be forfeited.
  • 60 day or more cancellation notice is eligible for a full refund less a $25.00 processing fee.
  • 30-60 day cancellation notice results in a forfeiture of deposit.
  • Less than 30 day cancellation notice will result in no refund being given and the balance in full, if not already paid, will be due immediately.
  • Optional chef service is fully refundable if cancelled before 2 weeks of arrival date, otherwise no refund will be given.
  • Should a reservation be cancelled by us, due to no fault of our own (natural disaster or property emergency), your reservation may be transferred to another weekend or refunded in full.
  • Creative Cottage is not liable for any loss, damages or claims resulting for any reason whatsoever for any events outside of the control of Creative Cottage. Including, but not limited to, theft, loss of power, utilities, service interruptions (cable, internet), etc.

Most frequent questions

What if scrapbooking is not my hobby?

Creative Cottage is designed and furnished with scrapbooking and quilting in mind, but we welcome all crafters or those just looking to get away for a fun and relaxing weekend. So whether your hobby is quilting, stamping, knitting or simply just reading a book, Creative Cottage is the place to be!

Is Creative Cottage open to others?

Yes, Creative Cottage may be booked for church and corporate retreats, weddings, showers, birthday parties, family functions and whatever else you can dream up as well.

When is Check-In/Out?

Check-in time is 8:00am on the day of your scheduled retreat and check-out is 6:00 pm on the scheduled day of departure. We do ask that you check out of bedrooms by 4:00pm for housekeeping services.

What are the minimum/maximum guests at a retreat?

The minimum number of guests is 2 and the maximum is 16. We rent out each room separately, so you can choose to book 1, 2, 3 or all 4 bedrooms. If you are not with a friend or a larger group, please contact us and we will find a group looking to add another person that you can join.

What if we want to extend our stay and make it a 5 day retreat?

If a weekday retreat isn’t already booked, you are welcome to add Wednesday for only $25.00/pp + tax. Advance registration for an extended stay is recommended but we will do our best to accommodate last-minute requests.

What if I can’t make it Thursday?

That’s okay- Thursdays are free!! Some can’t even get to the Cottage until after work Friday and that’ okay too…just get there as soon as you can!!

What do I need to bring?

All you need to bring is yourself, comfy clothing and crafting supplies. We’ve taken care of the rest! Complimentary snacks and drinks are provided but you are welcome to bring your own too. Creative Cottage also provides shampoo, conditioner, ear plugs, hair dryer, & feminine hygiene products. The craft room has a first aid kit, ice pack, and over the counter medication such as Tylenol, Ibuprofen, allergy meds and antacids. We also keep a fan and space heater in each closet too.

Do you have a computer with Internet and Wireless Service?

Yes, we have high speed internet on our desktop computer in the craft room and wireless service with amplified signal for those who love to scrapbook digitally!

Do we have to use the Chef Service or can we plan our own meals?

No, a fully furnished kitchen is part of Creative Cottage. You are welcome to bring your own food and cook meals at your pleasure or just 5 minutes away is a host of restaurants and fast food joints. We do highly recommend our chef though! Remember…the Cottage is a place to escape from cooking and cleaning!

What if I have food allergies or am on a restricted diet?

Please let us know ahead of time. Our chef is well-versed on food allergies/intolerances such as gluten and dairy allergies. She can offer alternatives within the menu such as serving a grilled chicken breast vs. chicken quesadillas, and you are welcome to bring any substitutions/sides as well. Be sure to speak with the chef directly before each meal while you are at the Cottage too.

Do you teach any classes?

Currently we don’t offer any classes, but we do rent out the Cottage weekdays for an hourly rate to those who would like to bring a class of their own. Please contact us directly for more information.
